Mahindra and Mahindra, India's biggest utility vehicle creator is planning to increase production of its recently launched sports utility vehicle, Mahindra TUV 300. The slope up comes in under two months of the launch and prodded by the great reaction from the market.
Having secured more than 15500 bookings in the last couple of months, a few merchants aware of present circumstances of the improvement told ET, that the organization has intimated them of a greater requirement in the coming three month with arrangements of ramping up the production to 5500 to 6000 units till February.
The bookings nearly 40-45% of them are the AMT variation. The vehicle at present has a waiting time of four to six weeks relying upon the variant. The organization had begun with monthly production of 4000 units and it is ready to increase production in view of demand at the time of dispatch.
Mahindra and Mahindra president and chief executive Pravin Shah confirmed that the organization is ramping up production for growing market demand. Mahindra TUV 300 keeps on having a decent draw in the business sector. We saw a decent rush during festive season. So we are ramping up the production capacity.
The Mahindra TUV 300 was priced Rs 1 Lac lower than the rival Ford EcoSport about Rs 1.5 Lac lower than Renault Duster. Mahindra launched Mahindra TUV 300 at Rs 6.9 Lac to Rs 9.12 Lac. The first couple of months the sales of TUV 300 was higher than Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport.
