US-based famous cult bike maker Harley-Davidson is expecting development in tier-II cities of the country where the organization is expanding its business. Since its retail operations started in the country in 2010, over 12,000 Harley Davidson motor cycles have been sold out, Harley Davidson India, Vikram Pawah told.
The Harley Davidson has succeeded in building a solid leisure motor cycle culture, he said on the sidelines of the dispatch of a dealership.The organization has more than 65% share in the segment, he said including, it was expanding its dealer network in tier-II cities, where development is expected. With 13 models, the organization has set up a manufacturing-cum assembly unit in Bawal, Haryana.
To a query about the proposal to dispatch lower bikes to suit Indian road condition, he said there was no proposal. He further told South India was an important market for the organization which had including "a remarkable response" from the clients.
